31 Days of Unexpected Joy: Halfway (Day 16)

31 Days of Unexpected Joy: Halfway (Day 16)

Hello, Friends!

If you’re reading this, it means that I’ve (at least somewhat) successfully navigated my way through the halfway point of the 31 Days Writing Challenge. That’s right, folks – in just over two weeks, you’ll be free of my daily tirades offerings. Hooray!

To commemorate, I’m sharing one of my favorite quotes from the Bible about joy:

“The joy of the Lord is my strength.” –Nehemiah 8:10

And I made an image, too. Fun!

The Joy of the Lord is my strength (2)

Here’s an interesting thing I didn’t know about the word, “joy,” before I started this little exercise:

According to the Catholic Bible Concordance Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition, the word, “joy” appears 196 times in the Bible, whereas the word “happy” appears only 46 times, and “happiness” a mere 3 times. One of my favorites, the word “rejoice,” appears 178 times, “rejoiced,” 47 times, “rejoices,” 14 times, and “rejoicing,” 37 times. I’m not entirely sure if I have a point by stating these facts, but they make me happy – or should I say, joyful – so I am including them for your edification, amusement, or chagrin. You choose.

Annnnd since I have a big talkity-talk to give to a group of women tomorrow and have to be 1/2 an hour away by o’dark-thirty in the morning, I will bid you all a good night. Oh! But first! May I ask y’all to pray for me and the women who will attend? I would super-duper appreciate it. Please and thank you. 🙂

Until tomorrow, God bless y’all!
