Update on Bury the dead: Y’all done brought it!

Earlier today, I asked for your help, and y’all done BROUGHT it. I mean, for reals and for trues. I stand in awe of our awesome God and the amazing things we can accomplish as believers when we stand united in prayer and purpose. PRAISE HIS NAME!!

Here is an update on the situation, from Mary herself:

*** UPDATE AS OF 4:28 PM EST, WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 28, 2016***

You all are amazing! Just amazing. I have absolutely no words left. I am typing through tears. I had to pick Jerry up from the floor. You fabulously wonderful people have given $4,200 plus dollars in the last several hours. I walked away from the computer to go to the grocery store and post office and I come home to yet another Christmas miracle for the Lenaburg Family. We have more than enough to get back to Oklahoma for Jerry’s Dad’s funeral early next week and to pay for extended parking and other traveling expenses. There is more than enough to cover Jerry’s leave without pay as well. Whatever is left, we will apply to the debt that remains from Courtney’s time here on earth. I should have known that when Courtney is involved, she doesn’t mess around. My daughter is an incredible intercessor. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for your love and most generous support. We are humbled beyond belief … God is GOOD, ALL THE TIME.

So thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! While these dollars and cents don’t erase the pain, they sure do ease some of the burden for this faithful family. I am so humbled and grateful for your response.

And, just for fun, here’s what I texted Mary when I heard that y’all helped them FAR surpass their goal:

Thank YOU Jesus!! Thank YOU!!! You are worthy! You are powerful! You are mighty! We thank You!! We praise You! We adore You! You are worthy! Of ALL the honor, glory, and praise!!

That’s how I felt, and that’s how I feel, and that’s the truth, and I’m stickin’ to it.

God bless y’all. REALLY.

heather

P.S. Anyone who has struggled with grief knows that it is an ongoing process of the heart, mind, and body. Ongoing prayers for the entire Lenaburg Clan are, of course, encouraged and appreciated. Amen and amen. <3

Life is Beautiful! RCM Birthday Giveaway Extravaganza

Life is Beautiful! RCM Birthday Giveaway Extravaganza

Once upon a time, lo these many moons ago, a young college student and her boyfriend conceived a tiny little life one unusually warm summer eve.

Despite swirling emotions, harsh judgements, and unfulfilled expectations, the young woman resolved to carry her child to term, flying in the face of advice to the contrary and the law of the land which allowed termination through the ninth month of pregnancy.

On a Wednesday morning in the month of May, the young woman delivered her first-born child, a healthy baby girl with dark hair and lungs the size of Texas.

Mere hours later, knowing her painstaking choice was one made with greatly sacrificial love, the young woman gave her little girl away to her new forever family.

Every year, on this day, I reflect on the amazing collection of “yeses” that culminated in the precious gift of my life. I am keenly aware that, without each one of these assents, my life would be much, much different – or not at all.

It is with great thanksgiving and praise to God that I commemorate the life He’s given me, and I want to celebrate with YOU by having a little giveaway.

I must say – the response to my call to the Catholic community for a 40th birthday giveaway has been pretty epic – over 20 spectacular items to give away means there will be 20 individual winners – and there’s also a free ebook available to anyone who wants it. Everybody wins!!

My friend, you are not an accident, and neither am I. We have been wonderfully and fearfully made by a God Who knew us and wanted us for Himself before the beginning of time. I glorify God for the gift of your life and the gift of mine.

Without further ado, let’s get this party started! Head on over to Instagram to enter the giveaway, and be sure to tell your friends!

Thank you so very much to Elizabeth, Jen, Rebecca, Kendra, Rakhi, Jenna, Cristina, Heather, Shannon, Annie, Theresa, Adrianna, Ruth, Meg, Sue, Maria, Sharon, Katrina, and Lorissa May God richly bless you for your generosity and the great gift of your “yes.” Y’all are amazing, and I couldn’t pull this off without you!!

Peace and all good,
heather

Today, I’m over at Blessed as She talking about Jesus’ healing power. Here’s a sneak peek:

In Jesus’ time, thousands sought healing in the midst of their pain and affliction. They sought Him. And, over and over again, Jesus welcomed them, touched and healed them; He loved them without condition and showered them with mercy.

New must-see video from Musician Danielle Rose

New must-see video from Musician Danielle Rose

Grab your tissue box, dear friends, because this hauntingly gorgeous new video from Catholic singer-songwriter Danielle Rose will tug, pull, and yank at your heartstrings and then configure them in super-funky ways you didn’t quite know were possible.

So enthralled was I whilst watching this morning that I burned the toast. Twice.

No matter.

What is worthy of your consideration is the China Little Flower organization, whose care for the abandoned and forsaken children in China is lovingly documented in Danielle’s video. From their website:

“Our Projects include: 1. Hospice care for orphans; 2. Group educational foster care; 3. Special Care for infants; 4. Long-term care for severely disabled children; 5. Special causes Hospice … In our hospice program we provide comfort, love, and care to orphaned children who are dying.”

Allllllll the tears.

Care for unwanted children through adoption and foster care is very close to my heart, and I hope to post more about it in this space soon. Meanwhile, please prayerfully consider supporting the necessary work of China Little Flower as you ponder Blessed Teresa of Calcutta’s beautiful words as sung by Danielle:

“How can you say there are too many children? That is like saying there are too many flowers in the garden of God.”

We can make a difference, friends. We truly can.

God bless y’all.

UPDATED to add this behind-the-scenes clip about making the video because so. much. joy. !! Shout out to Spirit Juice Studios for another excellent production!
